In October 1990, The Harrison County Development Commission in cooperation with the City of Biloxi developed the Gulf Coast Business Technology Center to provide an atmosphere that would encourage the development of small, start-up businesses and enable them to survive.
The Gulf Coast Business Technology Center (GCBTC) has graduated over 50 companies. These companies have created numerous jobs in the Gulf Coast area. In addition, we continue to have tremendous activity at the GCBTC. Hundreds of jobs with an annual payroll approaching $ 1 million - and the numbers are growing annually - continue to be the rewards of our efforts.
We now have a success story to tell, but the original purpose of the Gulf Coast Business Technology Center has not changed. The GCBTC is designed to provide basic business services to start-up businesses. Owners and managers of these businesses often face the problems of needing more personnel, better equipment, additional support services, or more efficient administrative services. To the small business, these pieces of the business puzzle may be beyond their immediate reach, but they may be critical to their survival.
The BTC helps you put the business puzzle together by providing a sheltered business environment. We provide office and light manufacturing space, business counseling, access to shared services, office equipment, complete telecommunications/internet capabilities, and access to common areas all for one reasonable price. In addition, you have the opportunity to interact with other entrepreneurs - people with similar goals and challenges - in an environment that promotes success.
